What is Diablo: Unbound?

Diablo: Unbound is a cooperative board game for one to four players, announced on 21 October 2026. Glass Cannon Unplugged (GCU) describes it as a modular dungeon battler: you choose a class, fight through dungeons full of monsters, take their loot and build your character between fights. GCU is making it in collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment and calls it the first officially licensed Diablo board game.

This wiki covers that board game only. It does not cover the Diablo video games, and it is an unofficial fan site. Every claim here carries a status: confirmed when the publisher says it in writing, reported when it comes from a staff comment or the press, and not announced when the publisher has not said it yet.

Two cards. Diablo: Unbound is a cooperative tabletop game for 1 to 4 players by Glass Cannon Unplugged with Blizzard, with a Gamefound pre-launch page and a campaign planned for Q1 2027. Diablo video games are not covered on this site.

How does a game of Diablo: Unbound work?

GCU’s announcement post describes the shape of a full run. You pick one of four classes, then journey across three acts. Each act has three dungeon levels, and each level fills with monsters that get harder as you go, until the act ends with a unique boss. The game combines deck building with dice rolling.

Between fights there is a town phase. GCU says you can spend resources there to improve your skills, manage your loot and respecialise your character. Loot comes from opening chests, finishing side quests, hunting Treasure Goblins, building Kill Streaks across successive hordes and killing Elite monsters.

Three columns for Act I, Act II and Act III. Each has three dungeon levels, and the third level of every act is highlighted because each act ends with a unique boss. A dungeon level takes about 60 to 90 minutes and a full act about 3 to 4.5 hours.

GamesRadar+ headlines its report “Don’t call the new Diablo board game a dungeon crawler”, arguing that it is a dungeon battler with fighting and loot all the way down. The same report describes a push-your-luck element in the fights. That detail is reported, not confirmed by GCU. The full rules are not published yet, so read the how to play guide for what we can say today.

Four steps in a loop: fight through the dungeon, collect loot, visit the town to improve skills and manage loot, then go to the next level or the act boss.

Which classes are in Diablo: Unbound?

Four classes were announced: Barbarian, Rogue, Sorceress and Paladin. GCU says more classes may arrive through stretch goals and future expansions, and has not named any. According to GCU, each class has a distinct playstyle, custom mechanics, dedicated components, a skill tree and its own progression system. The game page adds that loot comes from your class’s dedicated equipment deck.

Beyond that, the details come from the press. The Polish site Planszowe Newsy reports that the Paladin works with auras and can be built toward a Hammerdin or a Zealot, that the Barbarian runs on Fury, and that the Rogue builds combinations of cards. Treat those as reported until GCU publishes class details itself.

Is Diablo: Unbound tied to one Diablo game?

No, according to a GCU staff comment on Gamefound: the board game is not tied to one specific title and takes “the best of Diablo” from across the series. The Diablo IV question has its own page with the evidence.

What has not been announced yet?

As of 22 October 2026, the publisher’s game page, its blog post and the Gamefound page do not list a price, a delivery date, an exact campaign day, a complete rulebook or full rosters of bosses and monster families. A GCU staff member also said on Gamefound that everything is still a work in progress and may change, including rules and artwork.

The release tracker follows the dates, and the price and editions page follows the cost questions. If you want to follow the campaign yourself, use the Gamefound pre-launch page; the Treasure Goblin gift is tied to that follow.
